Square Meal Review of Damson & Co ?

Another independent café/deli to swell Soho’s treasure chest, Damson & Co is a charming prospect offering all-day breakfasts, tempting sharing plates and serious English drinks. With its slate-grey walls hung with clipboard menus, and a polished wooden bar piled with homemade cakes and sandwiches, the cosy, contemporary dining room has plenty of magazine-strewn counter space for lone rangers – plus a few small tables for off-duty socialisers. A boppy pop soundtrack plays as laid-back staff deliver plates of Brit-sourced charcuterie (perhaps wild venison chorizo), artisan cheeses (Yorkshire Buffalo Blue, for example) and the pick of the catch from the South Coast Boats (look for native oysters). Otherwise try moreish flatbread pizzas and zingy salads. Fresh juices are a perfect daytime pick-me-up, while quintessential G&Ts based on London gins such as Oxley, No. 3 and Portobello Road are perfect come the witching hour.

Munch My Way :: Breakfast at Damson & Co, Soho

Damson & Co is a chill little spot on the busy Brewer St right opposite Yalla Yalla. Breakfast here are based around eggs but also some sandwiches that you can grab or fresh brewed coffees. Agent Restauranteur :: Damson & Co – London W1F

A characterful Soho deli, serving an all day menu fit for nibbling and feasting. I had walked past Damson & Co far too many times before I finally ventured in. And in every passing I cursed myself for forgetting about this characterful little all-day-dining ‘deli’. Having now been twice in three days, you can take my word for it, this place is worth remembering. My first outing was a office-lunch; the four of us piled in, eyeing up the numerous blackboards that adorn the walls. Settling down around the corner of the counter-top bar we eagerly checked out the menu, which I had sold to my colleagues based on the cheese and charcuterie offering...

  3. Two current trends in the London dining scene at the moment are creating all-day-dining menus and adding a gratuitous “& Co” to the end of your business’s name. Newly opened Damson & Co twirls a double braid of zeitgeist to offer the constant flow of Soho shufflers a handy little place for a full-on dinner or a dabbling dash with libation – be it booze, fresh juice or quick shot of espresso. Based on two recent visits, I’m giving Damson & Co two all-day thumbs up and recommend that you and whatever company you keep soon follow suit to have a look and taste for yourself...

The Hedonist :: Damson & Co – Review

Sitting amid the bustle of Brewer St, Damson had been open for 6 weeks when we were invited in to sample the menu. The interior mixes post-industrial ducting with filament bulbs, a wooden bar and leather bar stools. It’s as if your favourite pub has gone all Soho on you -but that’s probably the idea. We started with a glass of Gusbourne 2008 Brut Reserve English Sparkling wine. The English sparkling wine scene is in rude health at the moment and the Gusbourne is a fine example; elegant with a toasted brioche nose and a stone fruit taste. It matched our seafood platter perfectly...
