Mad Hatter's Afternoon Tea at Sanderson says ?

We invite you to tumble down the rabbit hole and enjoy the wonderful world of Afternoon Tea in our beautiful Courtyard Garden. This incarnation of our Afternoon Tea highlights our collaboration with design collective Luna & Curious, who crafted bespoke crockery with a carnival theme for the service.
Menus are hidden inside vintage books, and napkins wrapped with riddles, while teapots adorned with kings and queens play host to wondrous fare. You will enjoy treats such as dainty rainbow sandwiches on homemade bread and classic home baked savoury and sweet scones with herb butter and fruit preserves. This culinary whimsy continues with sweets such as strawberries and cream homemade marshmallow mushrooms and a melting mango cheesecake coated in rainbow patterned white chocolate.
The Mad Hatter's Afternoon Tea at Sanderson will continue to evolve, with elements changing seasonally and flavours varying from season to season.

  1. No, no, no, wait a minute, I always have tuna on toast. Nothing's ever worked out for me with tuna on toast. I want the complete opposite of tuna on toast. Chicken salad, on rye, untoasted, and a cup of teaGeorge Costanza (Seinfeld episode “The Opposite”)Afternoon tea must have been a creation of a Hobbit. I love the fact that between lunch and dinner you can go bananas and have and all you can eat finger sandwiches, scones, and cakes without remorse. There are plenty of options in London but one quite particular is in the Sanderson hotel, The Mad Hatter's Afternoon Tea.Tea TimeAttention to detail, fun, and great execution is what will you find in the Mad Hatter afternoon tea. All the food was great, the sandwiches are ok, the different types of bread gives a nice twist otherwise they will be standard. They have 3 special teas and also the classic ones, our favourite was the mint choco chip. Cakes and sweets are really nice and exotic, mango cheesecake, tea chocolate cup, and even the mushroom marshmallows. But I have to say the highlight probably are the scones, best ones I have ever had.Where is Alice?Highly recommended, definitely great fun having it. Finger sandwiches with spinach, sun dried tomato, or lemon bread, the special quiche, great sweat and savoury scones, and on the sweet side the tick tock victoria cake, melting mango cheesecake, or the drink me potion.Highlight of the afternoon scones and drink me potionSanderson Hotel - The Mad Hatter's Afternoon TeaT: 020 7300 5588Afternoon TeaApprox Damage: £44ppArea: FitzroviaBorough: City of WestminsterTwitter: SandersonLDN

  2. If you’re not a) A woman or b) Planning a hen night you probably stopped reading this at the headline. The Mad Hatter’s afternoon tea at the Sanderson is largely full of groups of ladies dressed up to the nines with silk sashes draped across their bodies, or wearing silly things on their heads. We did spot the odd regular couple scattered amongst them, in fact we sat next to one so Ade and I weren’t alone. Although being a keen people watcher and more in touch with his feminine side than the average man, Ade was in his element. I think he wanted to swap me for a hen party instead, it wouldn’t be the first time..

  3. Most of the contents of this very charming, saccharine-sweet afternoon tea are lost in a hazy sugar-cloud, so I’m grateful for the photo evidence I had the good mind to take. The Sanderson has been offering a Mad Hatter’s tea for some time now, at least a year or so, but it seems to have retained its popularity judging by the packed tables around us. Outside is where the hotel believes its prime seating is, but I disagree, on account that it’s almost always cold /grey /windy /rainy in London. Instead, the high tables that my friend and I occupied just on the other side of the glass, were better for that smug ‘almost outside but much warmer inside’ feeling...

    Foodie Force :: Valentine

    We've wanted to go to the Mad Hatter's Afternoon Tea at the Sanderson Hotel for so long. What better time to go than for Valentine's day, so off we went battling against the wind and rain. The Mad Hatter's Champagne Afternoon Tea is £48 per person and includes a glass Champagne. Before we could be a guest at the tea party we were asked to drink a magic potion to shrink ourselves .. On sitting down at our table you can instantly see that considerable thought has gone into every aspect from the plates, cups and tea offered...
