Supremo Rainer Becker favours a low-key, contemporary sleek look for the standalonebar at Oblix, and lets the views do the talking. A swinging house jazz band belts out the standards, while punters survey the twinkling lights of London’s cityscape. Like the bar’s location halfway up the capital’s latest icon, cocktails are pitched at a mid-point in terms of price – the sum of £12.50 secures an Earl Grey iced tea, pear Martinez or fig Manhattan. There’s some appealing bar food, too – from unctuous, on-trend burrata to flaky crab cakes that eat like savoury Ladurée macarons. As views equate to queues, you are advised to book ahead –and be aware that £5 cover charges may apply.
