Square Meal Review of The Lounge at The Shard ?

Asia Pacific’s Shangri-La group is opening London’s first ‘elevated’ luxury hotel in the summer with a new venue occupying levels 34 to 52 of the iconic Shard. In addition to three river-facing event rooms, an infinity pool and a 24-hour gym, the hotel will boast a destination bar and three eateries including The Lounge – a casual alternative to the adjoining Shard 35 restaurant. Panoramic views are a given, and the place will offer all manner of possibilities from continental breakfasts to mid-morning coffee and cake, Asian-inspired afternoon tea (featuring a comprehensive range of Chinese blends) and light evening meals with drinks. The full menu will focus on Shangri-La’s signature oriental specialities such as won ton soup, bowls of laksa, Hainan chicken rice, nasi goreng, char kuey teow noodles and the like.
