Square Meal Review of Homeslice ?

Originally a pop-up, Homeslice has found a permanent home for its wood-fired pizza oven among the craft stores, rainbow cafés and natural apothecaries of Neal’s Yard. Weekend shoppers and tourists join a young local crowd in the buzzy whitewashed dining room with its plain wooden tables and vintage industrial vibe. There's only one thing on the menu – although a changing roll call of artisan toppings sets Homeslice apart from your average high-street pizzeria. Creative combinations include moist pork belly with zesty chimichurri and smoked onions or white anchovy with chard, Doddington cheese and a spritz of orange zest. All come with perfectly crisp bases and delicious doughy crusts; order by the slice or get stuck into the magnificent 20-inch version, washed down with crisp Saint lager, Prosecco or house wines delivered in measurable magnums (simply pay for what you drink). Takeaway slices, too.

Munch My Way :: Homeslice, Covent Garden

First things first, the pictures are going to be pretty bad this blog. The place was dark and bad for taking photos. But the food was delicious! Homeslice started from a street vendor and now create some really really delicious pizza at the heart of the busy Covent Garden...

Samphire and Salsify :: Homeslice, Covent Garden

Homeslice originally started out selling pizzas from a homebuilt wood fired oven in the courtyard of London Fields Brewery. After two very popular years it’s finally found itself a bricks and mortar home at Neal’s Yard in Covent Garden. They don’t take reservations so the six of us had a lengthy hour long wait for a table – we could at least wander off and get a drink which is always a plus. The inside was really buzzy; filled with noisy chatter and merriment which was helped by the long shared bench tables. This did however make things awfully cramped; we had very little room at all...

  3. There are more pizza restaurants in London then there are slow-moving convoys of exchange students, so any new pizza place has to try hard to stand out from the crowd. Homeslice, a new restaurant in Neal’s Yard of Covent Garden, relies on two hooks – huge 20in pizzas topped with unusual ingredients, available whole for £20 or by the slice for £4. Neither of these will please puritanical fans of traditional Neapolitan-style pizzas, so Homeslice has to get both the quality of the base and the combination of toppings spot-on to avoid being nothing more than a gimmick restaurant for tourists and other novelty-seekers with short attention spans...

  4. Hidden on Neal's yard near Covent Garden. This new restaurant Homeslice is perfect if you like pizza. The atmosphere is friendly and simple, there is benches and simple tables, food is served on a kind of wood plate (if you order a whole pizza) or a paper plate!...

  5. Homeslice, one of the first streetfood traders to take woodfired pizza mobile will open their restaurant today. Serving wine and pizza by the inch, the 50 seater eatery can be found in Neal's Yard - access through a passageway from Monmouth Street. The restaurant has been almost a year in the making as founding member and chef Ry Jessup has teamed up with Mark Wogan to launch the venture...
