Square Meal Review of BRGR.CO ?

Fresh from its success in Beirut, BRGR.CO has jumped onto London’s careering burger bandwagon with the launch of a new joint in Soho. ‘Character cow heads’ created by local artists are a feature of the funky interior (they will be auctioned off for charity each month), while the burgers are built from 28-day aged Buccleuch beef. They come in three sizes (up to 8oz) and are supplemented by a medium-rare ‘butcher’s cut’ and a couple of veggie alternatives, with five sorts of chips to choose from (‘regular’, ‘messy’, parmesan truffle etc). Starters bring crisp buttermilk onion stacks or mac and cheese, while the drinks list touts homemade lemonade with a choice of spirits, plus a handful of wines and American Huber beer. No bookings, but takeaways and local deliveries should suit deskbound Soho workers.

    A Ridiculous Pleasure :: Afternoon tea at BRGR.CO

    While most foodies have been debating about ‘London’s best burger’ for months, Soho-based vowel-deficient favourite BRGR.CO have attempted to change the conversation by offering a burger-inspired afternoon tea menu. Perhaps not the most obvious pairing, but it certainly is a unique concept from the Wardour Street favourite, who are better known for serving mammoth burgers such as the 8oz ‘The Masterpiece’ made with cuts of well-marbled steak.

  2. There’s an on-going trend for crazy hybrid creations, and the newest craze is the dessurger. The dessurger has been created by Eric Allanba from BRGR.CO, inspired by the non-stop demand for burgers and the cronut. BRGR.CO, conveniently located in between Oxford street and Tottenham Court road. On the menu 5 burgers are on offer, there are also specials that you can order. My eyes were set on “the tender blend”, and some crunchy fries...

  3. London doesn’t seem to be tiring of burgers. Since my gut-busting 35 burger roundup that finished back in August, still more burger restaurants have opened. Two of the latest, Patty and Bun and Brgr.co, opened within weeks of each other. I therefore thought it’d be interesting to pit them against each other, not only to see who’d came out on top, but if either of them are good enough to displace Honest Burger, Burger and Lobster and Tongue ‘n’ Cheek from my meat-loving affections...

  4. BRGR.CO is another joint that launched as part of a spate of burger-focused openings in London at the tail end of 2012. Situated at the top of Wardour Street, just off Oxford Street, it's a burger import from that well-known Lebanese burger capital, Beiruit....(!) BRGR.CO it opened its doors in December 2012 to a host of early and somewhat mixed reviews. I've given it a few weeks to settle into it's stride, so it was time I hit it up with a regular burger chomping dining companion to give you my account of BRGR.CO, Soho...

    Samphire and Salsify :: BRGR.CO

    Having recently experienced near burger perfection at Patty&Bun I thought I’d give newly opened BRGR.CO a go. It’s in a pretty good spot right in the heart of Wardour Street in Soho and as I walked in and smelt the waft of smokey grilled beef, things were looking positive. Sadly however it went downhill from there. The first of two small dining rooms had an open kitchen and quite a buzzy atmosphere but the one in which we were seated lacked any personality whatsoever. The tables were minuscule and the wooden chairs were uncomfortable – it wasn’t the sort of place we wanted to spend very long...

    Burgerac :: BRGR.CO 6oz Tender Blend Burger

    Another week, another new burger joint opens in the centre of London. This week it's the turn of Beirut burger joint BRGR.CO which promises a "brgrlicious experience". It fails to deliver… The scent of burger-generated cash wafts from London across oceans to lure burger-based businesses to come and get involved. Reading about their immenent opening a few weeks ago I wondered if the BRGR.CO crew had done their homework and were going to offer something on a par with its central London burger-vending neighbours, namely Lucky Chip, MEATliquor, Honest, and Patty & Bun. Now I've been, I know categorically, that they haven't and furthermore that they don't...
