The Big Red Pizza & Bar says ?

The Big Red Pizza and Bar on Deptford’s busy Church Street may well be London’s quirkiest venue, which in such a vibrant and creative city is saying a lot.

Situated in a red double decker bus, surrounded by a wonderful terrace and herb garden, the restaurant offers much more than a traditional Italian restaurant.

The Big Red’s fresh baked pizzas, dressed with basil from the ‘dining room’ planters is delicious, In addition the Big Red now makes it's own fresh pasta every day with a range of authentic pasta sauces, the like only to be found in Italy.

So not only will you enjoy fab food and delicious drinks on the Deptford Riviera; under a canopy, on the Riverside Terrace or within the bus itself, but you’ll be treated to art exhibitions, acoustic music, film screenings and other events .

Drinks range from Happy hour cocktails Tuesday-Friday 6-9 pm, to local meantime beer, fantastic organic coffee accompanied by homemade biscotti.

    inher30s :: Big red pizza

    Aside from the obvious plus points at pulling over at the sight of a big red bus, buzzing with hive and activity, to find that it serves up fresh nosh in the form of pizzas, cocktails and more is a great find on the streets of Deptford. I’ve driven past this place many times and one day, hungry and morosely considering what the fridge might contain, we jumped out and headed in to the bus. A children’s party was in full swing so we couldn’t sit in the bus, but I actually preferred that as it made for better photo taking opportunities. The service as relaxed & friendly, the food reasonably priced and simply good. My Caesar salad was not exactly healthy but the fabulous dressing was zingy & anchovy-licious. Husband’s Fiorentina was exactly what the doctor ordered (in his words) and that and some garlicky doughballs later, we were happy campers...

  2. I heard through the grapevine about The Big Red Pizza bus – a knackered old double-decker converted into a restaurant in Deptford, I knew it had the potential to be a winner and fill an afternoon. They also show free kids films, in a slightly alarming looking converted lorry in the back of the restaurant’s secluded ‘garden’. When I say garden, it’s more of a yard with a table football machine and some seating. As it was a rare sunny day we sat in the patio area, despite the bus being a huge novelty we didn’t fancy sweating away inside it. It’s a weird old place, kinda cool and very quirky, like something we’d stumble across in Thailand, quite hippyish with colourful paper lanterns and quite obviously child-friendly. Random origami hung from the plastic roof, kids drawings of the bus were pinned to the wall and there were more children than adults roaming about...
