Situated on the first floor of Fortnum & Mason’s venerable foodie emporium, The Parlour offers an ice-cream spree and more besides for adults and children of all ages. Many of the flavours are unique to F&M and the store has recently increased its range dramatically: enjoy them straight, order a float, build your own sundae or ring the changes with frozen yoghurt and sorbets. Authentic Viennese cakes and strudels are also a hit, particularly with superior espresso-based coffees, premium teas and the ‘ultimate hot chocolate’. If a savoury spread is required, the menu obliges with ‘savoury treats and salads’ ranging from Dorset crab sandwiches and Welsh rarebit to dill gravadlax with celeriac and caper rémoulade, duck rillettes or fish pie – perfect with a flute of fizz or a glass of wine.
