Ristorante Asellina has been wowing them in New York City, and it’s now brought its offer to the brand-new ME London hotel designed by Lord Norman Foster. In a bold setting of rich terracotta walls, blackened metal lighting frames and polished concrete floors it offers a signature menu of flatbreads from a wood-fired oven with all manner of toppings such as wild mushrooms with fontina cheese. Rustic flavours also shine through in paninis, grills and a selection of pastas including old-fashioned ‘square spaghetti’ with tomatoes and fresh basil or saffron strozzapreti with shrimps, courgettes and brandy sauce. On the drinks front, expect lively cocktails ranging from the ‘famosa’ (Ketel Citron, ginger-infused Canton liqueur, triple sec and white cranberry) to the ‘delicata’ (Bombay gin, Lillet Blanc and St Germain elderflower liqueur).
