Fish Market is the carefree, nautical side of D&D London's bold revamp of the Old Bengal Warehouse – a light and bright space, with an aquamarine ceiling, white brickwork and smart marble seafood bar, plus some pleasant outside seating. The food is similarly unpretentious: early risers can opt for a ‘seaside breakfast' of egg, hot smoked salmon and spiced Bengal prawns, or try one of the landlubbers' versions. Meanwhile, good calls from the evening menu have included the likes of salt-and-pepper squid and goujons of plaice with tartare sauce, as well as generously filled fish pie and a perfectly cooked salt cod and leek fishcake with mustard cream sauce. The venue's mixed young crowd can also choose from a host of daily specials to go with something suitable from the compact, style-led wine list.
