Aston’s Champagne & Wine Bar

Occupying the same address as Majingo’s Gentleman’s Club on South Quay’s waterfront, Aston’s business revolves around serving fizz & other booze, backed by an all-day menu of highly calorific food. Burgers are a winner, with variations on the theme including the ‘Cheddar gorgeous’ & ‘ooh la la’ (topped with brie). Mediterranean, Texan & oriental platters, plus ‘lite bites’ of brie wedges, piri-piri wings or crab cakes simply cry out for another round. Aston’s is also a good shout for special-occasion drinking, & it looks the part with its black, cream & silver design scheme. Best enjoyed with a Champagne flute in hand, it offers a good selection of bubbles including plentiful NV (some ‘en magnum’) & the all-important Cristal. Throw in a few cheeky cocktails & you’ve got the party started.
