Reds Bar & Grill

Handily placed directly opposite Wimbledon Theatre, Reds is currently celebrating 10 years as a fixture of the local scene. Open throughout the day, it pleases shoppers, culture vultures and clubbers with its transatlantic vibe, easy-going food and choice selection of booze. The kitchen looks stateside for inspiration, sending out burgers with assorted toppings, sticky chicken wings, baby-back ribs with smoky BBQ sauce, and Tex-Mex specials (nachos, burritos, alambres), but it also reaches out for Thai chicken with satay sauce and grilled haloumi salad – not to mention salmon and smoked haddock fishcakes or char-grilled British steaks. As for dessert, expect anything from strawberry meringues to Belgian cinnamon waffles with maple syrup. Reds also keeps the drinking crowds well fuelled with classic cocktails, premium beers and an accommodating list of global wines. Breakfast is proving increasingly popular too.
