Taking the place of DeVille, Reform Social & Grill has brought some added Britishness to the Mandeville Hotel. Out go the pinks, purples and padded walls, and in come chunky red banquettes, dark wood floors and copper-coloured walls. The masculine feel is also mirrored in the all-day menu, with hearty, uncomplicated dishes showing off their provenance – witness hanger steak with Herefordshire snails or whole roast Cornish Red chicken with game chips and bread sauce. Some dishes can underwhelm (our lamb cutlets Reform were utterly tasteless), but the kitchen acquits itself well when it comes to a pheasant Scotch egg with mayo, nostalgic Bakewell pudding with extra-thick custard and a dainty chocolate pot with salted caramel. The wine list is well worth a look, Sunday brunch is an appetising prospect, and grazers can order from an all-day bar snack menu.

Sunday Cinnamon :: Reform Social & Grill @ The Mandeville Hotel, bar review.
With Decor inspired by old British gentlemen’s clubs, this it does subtly but well with leather banquettes and traditional colours. The bar is large, grand and impressive, what you would hope to see in an upmarket hotel bar. Seating wasn’t great, a choice of slouchy sofas or deep curved back chairs made having an upright conversation quite difficult. A separate dining area looked much more appealing, and the grill menu tempting, but on this occasion I was here for drinks only...

ilovecakeandtea :: Review of Afternoon Tea at Reform Social Grill, London
Nothing says classy and girly than afternoon tea in town and my choice of venue was the Reform Social & Grill in The Mandeville Hotel, London. Reform Social and Grill brings a quintessentially British experience to the Mandeville Hotel. Taking inspiration from classic British gentlemen’s clubs, Reform Social and Grill offers an informal yet sophisticated experience with quality at the fore...

Burger Me! A London Burger Blog :: [Review] Reform Social and Grill Burger
Located on the corner of Mandeville Place and Hinde Street, Reform Social and Grill is attached to the Mandeville Hotel and it's suitably understated. I'd been invited to try out the house cheeseburger and the lobster burger - however my walk from Bond Street station took me past Patty & Bun on James Street and I was sorely tempted to sack it off and grab an Ari Gold instead, but the sub-zero temperatures and queues rolling out the door and down the street kept me on track to Reform Social...

TwelvePointFivePercent :: Reform Social & Grill, Marylebone
About three or four years ago, restaurants offering robust, butch British fare in clubby surroundings (gentlemen's rather than night) were the height of fashion, Dean Street Townhouse being the first and I would still argue the best of the bunch. It was a fashion I was very happy with, this being exactly the kind of food I like to eat and the kind of place I like to eat it in.Fashions change however, with each new restaurant opening now seemingly contending to be more niche and novel than the last, so just as I was thinking we'd all moved on to places serving only hot dogs and champagne or authentic pork-bone ramen, it came as a not-unpleasant surprise to hear about somewhere as resolutely - one might say wilfully - old-school as Reform Social & Grill...
