Square Meal Review of Lucky Chip Slider Bar ?

Food wagon-turned-fledgling eatery Lucky Chip has taken up residency at Soho’s Player Bar, serving miniature versions of the burgers that made it the talk of the town – although only a minuscule sign (and the owners’ Twitter feed) alert diners to its existence. In contrast to the bar’s louche, after-hours vibe, Lucky Chip’s mix-and-match mini-burgers (two for £12.50) are exemplary, from the delicious club version with a tangy ‘special’ sauce that apes that of the Big Mac to the ‘fillet-o-fish’ – a beautifully breaded combination of smoked haddock and pollock. All sliders are served in a yielding brioche bun with piping-hot French fries and a dainty slug of something homemade and fizzy (the choice varies from week to week). Lucky Chip doesn’t take bookings, so arrive early to avoid queuing – at peak times, the turnaround on tables is just one hour.

the dinersaur :: slider bar, lucky chip at the player

Last weekend, I was out looking for a quick meal to have with a friend and since Soho was the middle point between our locations, I suggested we head to The Player for some slider burgers by Lucky Chip. Situated on Broadwick Street, it is very much 'smack bang in the middle of Soho'...

  2. A long time ago in Borough not so far away I visited a burger stall in Netil Market. The place no other than Lucky Chip. I immediately felt in love with their burgers. Executed properly, great flavours, and a decent waiting time to get your treat. The cinephile place, as they named most of their special burgers after Hollywood actors. Their new venture Slider Bar. Pop-up style, in a Soho bar named The Player. Dim lights, packed night, and booze wandering around. It took us 5 minutes to get our table on a Saturday night, not bad at all. The menu includes a couple starters, Mac-N-Cheese, chicken bucket, and pork tacos. For sliders, the Lucky classics with even the special guest appearance...

Burgerac :: Slider Bar at The Player

£10 in this subterranean Soho cocktail bar buys you two mini versions of classic Lucky Chip burgers served with a pot of fries. Score! Normally on Burgerac I review and rate one particular burger at a restaurant – but doing so seems totally irrelevant in the case of Slider Bar, Lucky Chip's recent opening at subterranean Soho bar The Player. The whole point here is that you don't have one thing, but rather try a few different small plates...

Fd Over LDN :: (Un)lucky Chip

For ages we had been looking forward to the opening of Slider Bar, the new venture of LuckyChip in Soho, to complement their Hackney residence at the Sebright Arms. Their opening seemed to be constantly put back and back, checking out their twitter feed they seemed to be beseeched with bad luck holding back their opening. But finally today was the day, announced only the day before on Twitter. With the Lucky Chip burgers consistently touted as one of the best burgers in London, I didn't want to miss out on this. The Slider bar is on Broadwick St, just off Wardour Street, it is very discreet with the World's smallest sign, so keep your eyes peeled. We got there half an hour after opening, and managed to get a table for the 4 of us...
