Hidden beneath the ivy-clad Pelham Hotel on South Ken’s busiest junction, Bistro Fifteen is a stately haven where businessmen pore over laptops & gaggles of professional women come to chat over bottles of wine. Small & dimly lit, the restaurant is decked out in a bold turquoise & pink colour scheme, punctuated by groaning bookshelves & an assortment of vibrant abstract art. Colour also permeates the seasonally changing menu, whether it’s a starter of pressed rabbit with green peppercorns, golden beetroot & white-truffle honey or a main of pan-seared John Dory with stuffed baby squid, chorizo, celeriac purée, caramelised garlic & basil pesto. For afters, well-ripened cheese from neighbouring La Cave à Fromage or a luscious pomegranate & almond tartlet are the standout choices.
