Taking its name from the 19th-century Prison of Millbank (also, reputedly, the source of the nickname ‘pom’), this allcomers’ restaurant & bar is a sparky new addition to Altitude London’s socialising & events extravaganza. Set at the foot the Tower, its all-day offer is aimed at camera-toting tourists, Westminster politicos & arty types visiting nearby Tate Britain. Breakfast fill-ups give way to a populist Brit/European menu pulling in everything from fish & chips, steaks & pies to Mediterranean sharing boards, charcuterie, mezze, burgers & salads. POM’s attractions extend to a terrific outdoor space with uninterrupted views of the Thames, & there’s a separate snug area kitted out with sofas & heaters; the whole venue is also available for private bashes & entertaining.
