This new family-run pizzeria (opened February 2011) is a welcome addition to Greenwich. Bianco by name & by design – walls & chairs are painted white – it is spread over two cosily proportioned floors, dotted with Sicilian prints. The white theme extends to the pizzas, so you’ll find 10 ‘pizze bianche’ (no tomato sauce) with lashings of mozzarella, plus toppings such as Italian sausage & broccoli. Traditionalists might prefer the classic ‘pizze al pomodoro’, including margherita & quattro stagioni, on tomato-topped bases. The ground-floor tables afford a glimpse of the wood-fired oven, which gives the pizzas their delightfully crispy crust. Homemade pastas plus a few fish & meat main courses are also available, & a crisp, floral Prosecco from Jeio Bisol is among the interesting bins on the all-Italian wine list.
