A recent addition to Brixton Market’s noshing opportunities, Casa Morita is run with great enthusiasm by a Mexican cook & his English wife. It’s a cheerful, chummy sort of place, with food delivered swiftly from the open kitchen & plenty to satisfy Brixton bargain-hunters right through the day. Tacos, tortillas, tostadas, quesadillas & other taqueria staples are there in abundance, alongside a few more substantial dishes along the lines of huevos rancheros (a brunch hit) or chicken laced with rich mole sauce. To drink, BYO booze – otherwise, opt for hibiscus water or a bottle of Ossie’s ginger beer. You can queue at the bar for tacos & burritos to take out, & the place also sells a handy assortment of Mexican groceries.
