Juicy Argentinian steaks are the stars at this new parrilla restaurant – the first London foray for the out-of-town mini-chain. Decked out with chocolate walls & stained wood, the moody, intimate interiors are enlivened with Latin guitar music & occasional chillout tunes. The best bet is to skip empanadas & other starters altogether, & head straight for big plates of pampas-reared beef: succulent slabs of rib-eye steak are available in three sizes, along with rump, sirloin & fillet – or you can order the vast ‘sampler’ featuring all four cuts. Alternatively, forgo beef in favour of spatchcock chicken, pavé of salmon or a seasonal salad. The dependable wine list offers a dozen-or-so Malbecs, with some good bins by the glass, while a host of dulce de leche-based desserts provide a comforting end to proceedings.
