If you like your gin & tonic served up with a slice of culture, the refurbished café/bar at this arts & entertainment centre will oblige. Open from 8am for breakfast & all day Wi-Fi pursuits, the café element shuts down after a late-late lunch (6pm) that generally includes salads, hot comfort food, ice cream & cakes. Come dusk, mingle with Shoreditch’s skinny-jeans, style arbiters, creatives & Guardianistas who convene in the barn-like bar for draught & bottled lager at pub prices, wines from under £15 per bottle & classic cocktails such as Havana Club-based mojito or Bloody Mary. Take in stand-up, spoken word & an eclectic mix of live bands (a cover charge may apply), or watch art house films on various cinema screens upstairs.
