It would be easy to dismiss the Chelsea Riverside Brasserie as another please-all hotel restaurant, but this relaunched spot at the Wyndham Grand holds a couple of aces up its sleeve – namely the fashionable ‘harbour’ setting (complete with windows opening out onto a suntrap terrace) & an obviously talented kitchen. The international menu includes a faultless caramelised foie-gras roulade with Cognac prunes & brioche, as well as grilled octopus with Puy lentil ragoût & chorizo – a well-executed Iberian treat. Prices are all over the place, although there are dishes to suit most budgets – from spaghetti bolognese or fish & chips to perfectly timed Aberdeen Angus chateaubriand (for two) with crisp fries & silky béarnaise sauce. An extensive wine list & prompt service are additional plus points.
