Occupying a capacious corner spot just off Crawford Street, Honey Pot sees prolific restaurateur Claudio Pulze dipping his toe into Spanish waters. The wood-dominated interior is all light & air, with hanging hams & strings of chillis providing the now-familiar decorative trappings. The kitchen shows a solid grasp of Iberian flavours, & the menu celebrates them by offering slow-cooked octopus with paprika & olive oil, a dish of snails with chorizo & fried egg, & a twist on tortilla involving butternut squash & morcilla. Steak is provided for those who don’t like sharing, & dessert might be honey-baked figs with praline ice cream. Staff are friendly, & the wine list beefed up with sherries & port.
