The youthful Kensal Rise community has taken to this new café-cum-bistro like ducks to water. Locals feel right at home in a space that resembles a living-room – all rustic, woody furniture, kooky artwork & pastel-blue walls – & know they’re going to be well-fed & watered. Even dogs are welcome. French toast or a full English are popular brunch bites, served up with coffee & newspapers. Later in the day, beer-battered fish & chips with minted pea purée, rabbit stew or braised oxtail with saffron risotto are typical of the homely dishes up for grabs. Desserts such as classic baked cheesecake or sticky toffee pudding are as sweet as the staff, & the brief wine list sticks to well-know grape varieties. Keep an eye out for live music & comedy nights.
