Zorita’s Kitchen

Billed as the brainchild of El Bulli-trained Sergi Arola (a chef with his own Michelin-starred gaff in Madrid), this pint-sized Spanish café-cum-wine shop has been trading on the Thames walkway since 2010, showcasing produce from the owners’ organic farm in Castilla y León. Peckish punters looking for a grazing pitstop can take their pick from artisan cheeses & charcuterie, while the recently expanded menu also runs to open sandwiches & a few tapas classics – think tortilla, Galician-style octopus or Picos blue cheese, pear & walnut salad. In the end, it’s all about the ingredients, although wine lovers will be pleased to see that a chunk of the wood-furnished dining room is given over to hundreds of Iberian wines with modest mark-ups (note the offerings from Marqués de la Concordia).
