Square Meal Review of Yalla Yalla ?

Having taken Soho by storm, Yalla Yalla is now peddling its funky Beirut street food to the frenetic hordes of tourists & shoppers mingling around Oxford Circus. The new hangout is less claustrophobic than the pint-sized Green Court original, with big open spaces, rustic benches & heavy wood tables lit by dangling tubular lamps. By contrast, the menu is much as before, with a
host of mezze topping the bill for value, nourishment & authenticity: fattoush, tabbouleh & falafel share the limelight with batata harra (spicy potatoes with red pepper, coriander & chilli) or sawda djej (sautéed chicken livers with garlic & pomegranate molasses). There are also a few larger platefuls for those who want to pig out – anything from veggie moussaka to char-grilled chicken shawarma with pickles, sumac onion salad & vermicelli rice. Meanwhile, flatbreads & wraps are the stars in the takeaway stakes.

    Foodie Force :: Yalla Yalla

    Oxford Street is best known for its shopping exploits more than for its culinary scene. You could however have judged it to quickly. Hidden down Winsley Street is Yalla Yalla offering wonderful Beirut street food. Sister restaurant to the first Yalla Yalla in Green's Court Soho. It serves Lebanese and middle eastern food at its absolute best...

  2. I always like to step out of my comfort zone and try new foods and cuisines. When I heard about Yalla Yalla and the variety of different Lebanese mezze shared platters they offer, it was the perfect opportunity to bring a friend and try as many plates as we could. The menu is extensive and there’s plenty of food not only to share, but main courses if you’d prefer a dish for yourself. We decided to stick with the shared mezze dishes instead...

    Her Favourite Food :: Yalla Yalla

    Nestled in a small alley in Soho, Yalla Yalla with only 28 seats to offer, what looked like an unpromising venture stirred up a storm right from its opening in 2008. This restaurant has been reviewed and recommended by a host of varied high profile publications including the Tatler as well as the Financial Times, making it a swanky place to be. Yalla Yalla is a bustling, colourful and inviting restaurant. The counter is laid out with a fresh assortment of the treats available including baklava, kebabs, wraps and pastries as well as contraptions churning up fresh fruit juices in full view...
