New Evaristo

Take furniture from a Salvation Army mission, add some original Rat Pack imagery & a beatnik soundtrack, & you have New Evaristo (aka Trisha’s, after the madam who once ran a brothel in the building). The racy spirit of 1950s’ Soho is alive & well here, so if you have an ounce of soul, you’ll petition for this raffish drinking den to have a preservation order slapped on it. Accessed via an unmarked corridor, it’s technically a members’ club – although it allows in gents & others who bear up to scrutiny. The lighting is unforgiving & the drinks range unremarkable, but the ambience is a real tonic at this iconic survivor from the days before Gucci.
