Not too oily or heavy I am from an Indian descent so I am always wary of Indian restaurants that promise authentic Indian food. Elephant restaurant in Harrow, however wasn't a disappointment. After being seated we were impressed by the decor and the ambiance that they were going for. The place was cosy with good lighting and a fusion Indian music classical soundtrack. We were especially impressed by the variety of dishes on their menu representing Indian regions. The food was nice and well flavoured for an Indian restaurant. The Punjabi specialities were tasty and the mango lassi even awesome! Which is the usually the most difficult to get right, was also well made. I definitely recommend Elephant restaurant in Harrow to anyone who is craving a good Indian meal for a fair price and does not want to be disappointed.

Good Indian restaurant in harrow which is dominated by bengali and Gujrati restaurants. This punjabi place lives up to its reviews. The food was indeed very authentic, actually even the menu has some typical indian dishes like chettinad, khas khas lamb and lal maas…things you normally don't find in britsih curry houses.
The service was as good as the food if not better. We had a nice time overall and will be back soon for the sunday buffet.

Superb Superb food.. The thalis ( a 3 course plater with smaller portions of many different entrees) both veg and non-vegetarian …are something to kill for. The price is just so reasonable less than a regular Indian Restaurant but the food quality, flavour, courtesy of the staff, decor, the background music..the papardams ..the aroma…the whole experience is 50 times better than most places around south harrow. I have been to Indian restuarants all over …in atleast 20 different cities in the UK and as many in other countries..and this easily ranks nr1 in my book. The menu is just about half the size of an average Indian restaurant…but whatever is in there is made to perfection. ..not too much spice ..not less …just right! I have tried 20 different things from this menu over the last couple of months…and everytime I come out wondering how they score a perfect home run ! Suggest making reservations…as the place gets crowded at peak hours…

Very friendly service, the place looks like an indian art gallery with beautiful artefacts and paintings. food was excuisite, way above your local curry house standards with authentic dishes featuring on the menu. Portions were huge, we ordered too much but they packed it up for us to take away for the next day. Overall it was a memorable experience.

Finest Punjabi restaurant in Harrow. Real Indian flavours. Absolutely superb in every way: every dish delicious and perfectly cooked: alu chaat, eggplant and potatoes, fish fry amritsari , panir chettinad with honey nan, etc. The server was excellent and delightful. Definitely our favourite restaurant!

We had a reception party at our house this last Saturday. We requested various 8 snack items from The Elephant restaurant along with a dessert : Gulab Jamun. We had given our preference for their Chilli Prawns, Samosas, Dakshin Salad with Chicken, Seekh Kebab, Fried Fish, Garlic Kebabe, Paneer Tandoori & Naan breads.
Most of the communication was via email and their staff was very patience in responding to our queries. We had more than 10 email exchanges and they always replied us promptly and professionally. I was very impressed with their food as it was very authentic. Samosa's were deliciously tasty and not too spicy. Foods came professionally packed. All items were pretty good or I would say above average. The food came packed nicely in aluminium trays, and the delivery was on time. They also gave us some extra complementary Gulab Jamuns which I thought was very kind of them. Although they were bit too sweet but then my Indian friends told me they are supposed to be like that. Overall, we enjoyed the food thoroughly we will definitely be going here again to dine in and for our next catering event.

Nice Innovative Real Indian Food! Finest Indian restaurant in Harrow. It is an Indian restaurant with a twist. The ambiance, service and the presentation are really good. You can have either spicy or mild tasting dishes. Although almost all the dishes are great, those based on masala sauces are particularly great. Apart from the a la-carte you have to taste their specialties (worth it). From the ala-carte must try the following, Chicken Chettinad, Punjabi Chaamp Masala, Kashmiri Korma & Biryani. For desserts we loved the Elichi Kulfi a lot!

This place is surely is a must visit for a food lover…

I always go pass this newly opened restaurant on my way to work and decided to pay a visit with my family. The decor transforms you to another world. the walls are clad with ethnic artefacts, paintings, and the ceiling has colourful fabrics hanging from it. The hostess tells me that they have collected most of the artwork on their travels through India over the years and each ‘section’ of the place represents a different region of India. My favourite corner is the Rajasthan section with traditional puppets on the walls, and wooden statues. Great decor, but will the food live up to it? We ordered seekh kabab, samosas, and fish fry ( a punjabi speciality im told). The samosas were hands down the best ive had in this country. spicy filling, crunchy and soft on the outside. The fish and seekh kababs were good as well, bursting with flavour and fresh. Our mains were the chicken korma, Chicken Biryani, Lamb with poppyseeds, South indian fish curry, and rajasthani lamb. each dish had its own unique flavour. The korma was superb:thankfully no strange lychees or pineapple in sight. The rajasthani lamb was spicy but so much better than the vindaloo i normally go for and it had a lot of added flavour. It was totally different from the lamb curry with poppy seeds, equally good though. I didn't taste much of the other dishes but I heard they were great as well. For puds we had the rice pudding which was perfectly infused with cardamom and my kids ordered the ‘elephant friend’ ice cream. it came in a bowl with ice cream scoops and whipped cream and then they brought out a tray with lots of different toppings so the kids could decorate their own ice cream. It obviously went down a storm. Overall we had a nice time, the staff were helpful and seemed experienced. The food was reasonably priced, the portions were just right and it definitely tasted far better than your regular curry house and much more authentic (ive only been to india once and this was a close comparison). Glad i found this place.
