Occupying the first floor of the Broadway Bar & Grill, Brasa goes about its business as a steakhouse with add-ons. Its curious mix of cocktail-bar cool & white-clothed formality can seem slightly muddled, although some readers reckon it’s a ‘very romantic’ spot with a ‘divine ambience’. Starters are a mixed bag, with baby squid, almonds & capers outshining a briny ham hock with butter beans, while a specially imported Asador charcoal grill coats all the meaty centrepieces in a nice-enough barbecue flavour. However, with the likes of 12oz Galloway sirloin or 9oz Longhorn rib-eye weighing in around the £20 mark without sides, this is no cut-price pit stop. Wines & cocktails please without wowing & service is ‘as sweet as the kitchen’s desserts’. Avoid on Chelsea match days – unless you’re a hardcore fan.
