King's Head Theatre & Pub

If you’re looking for a proper pint, you’ll find Timothy Taylor, Black Sheep & indeed Proper Job on draught in this grand Victorian boozer. But you’re just as likely to spot a performer from the theatre out back – an intimate space that once served as a boxing ring, & recently underwent a musical conversion to become London’s Little Opera House. Decked out with red-velvet theatre chairs, the main bar has walls covered in black & white photos of famous faces who once performed here (Hugh Grant, French & Saunders, Alan Rickman, Victoria Wood). It’s open until at least midnight, & till 2am on Fridays & Saturdays when the pleasantly sozzled punters drink & dance to anything from northern soul to retro pop, courtesy of DJs & live bands.
