There’s plenty for Latin lovers to appreciate at little Lupita. An offshoot of Mexico City’s famed taquería El Farolito, it offers a genuine taste of vibrant Mexican cuisine and warm South American hospitality. Clued-up staff explain unfamiliar regional dishes such as grilled nopales (cactus) and recommend house specialities including gringa (tortillas topped with subtly spiced rotisserie pork and cheese), while signature tacos feature gobernador – fresh prawns with fiery chipotle mayo and pico de gallo.Zesty ceviches, beefy burritos stuffed with tender arrachera steak, and quesadillas filled with roasted poblano chillis and squash blossom are also on offer, alongside 100 per cent agave Tequilas and mescal. Located right by Charing Cross station, Lupita is invariably packed with a mix of tourists and locals – but if you can’t get a table, takeaways and deliveries are available.
