Perhaps because it is housed in a hotel bang on traffic-rammed Euston Road, Mirrors remains off most foodie radars – although its easily priced, Euro-accented cooking is certainly worth knowing about. The kitchen shows its capabilities & its feel for ingredients with starters such as foie gras terrine with trompettes, baby leeks & toasted brioche or aubergine & marjoram soufflé with spiced tomato chutney, while mains might include an intriguing pairing of lamb rump with beetroot & goats’ cheese terrine & lavender honey jelly. Two-course lunches (£16.50) & three-course dinners for £22.50 should appeal to tourists & business types lured by free Wi-Fi; the regulation hotel dining room is less appealing, likewise the views of the gridlock from its huge windows.
