Aubaine London Selfridges

I think this place would be not for tourists who come here only once. I will not recommend this cafe (It is definitely not restaurant) for any my friends. The quality and the prices of the food are very disappointing point. We were waiting crab and lobster salad 45 minutes and after that we received smelly (not fresh) crab and the plate of salad with three small pieces of can lobster (less than 30 grams). I think Selfridges as a good store need to have a good reputation for eat and drink places under its roof.

SHOCKING SERVICE AND CUSTOMER TREATMENT. Went to Aubaine, Selfridges with Mother and best friend for lunch this last Saturday (20 November) Stood in queue for half an hour being told by the Head Waiter every 5 minutes “it would only be another 10 minutes”. He kept ensuring us we'd get a table. After 40 minutes in the queue, he turned to us and said, and I quote “It's not going to happen for you ladies today ” …Never mind the unprofessional manner, funny thing was a table had just opened up right in front of us as we stood there. When we enquired about that table, he said there was a larger group behind us in the queue (who had just arrived – as I heard them asking for a table) that needed to be accommodated. There were 5 of them. Apparently they were to get that one ! Please note, I could completely understand if the table was a large table …but this was not the case. It was 3 small square tables of two seaters joined together – which could easily have been pulled apart, as we had seen them doing earlier whilst in the queue. We were treated as a ‘back up’ plan and when larger groups joined the queue they were always given priority. On this occasion as more bottoms could be filled into seats than our party of 3…we were given the BIG HEVO. We were not impressed at all and told the head waiter we were very unhappy. He then lied to us and told us the party behind us had “made a reservation” which was absolutely not true as I asked the ladies in the group behind us and they hadn't .By that time we were starving and had simply had enough. I assured the gentlemen I would make it my life's mission to let people know about this disgusting treatment. He simply smiled and shrugged. …Clearly they have enough business they can treat customers how they like. Not in my book ! Terribly disappointing, especially since we were looking so forward to it ! Sadly we did not even get to taste the food – but with treatment like that who needs food after that sour taste in your mouth ! ZERO from me I'm afraid.
