Will Ricker is best known for setting up smart pan-Asian eateries such as nearby E&O, but so far there are no signs that he plans to bring his winning ‘grazing & cocktails’ formula to one of W11’s prettiest residential streets. A lick of paint & some minor structural work have added a brighter, more open feel to this attractive Victorian hostelry, but otherwise the space remains unchanged. Pizzas, burgers & Sunday roasts reign supreme on the menu, with only a Sri Lankan curry & Asahi lager hinting at Wicker’s trademark orientalism. Bar bites of nachos or parmesan & truffle fries provide sustenance for committed drinkers, & a special kids’ menu helps to draw in local families.
