Café Sol

A jolly Mexican bar-restaurant: drop in for enchiladas, nachos, salads & a bowl of chilli con carne. Don’t expect to be blown away by the food – it’s OK rather than show-stopping, but it’s not expensive & the venue is conveniently located right on the High Street. More interesting is the Tequila list; there’s an abundance of sipping Tequilas, & the margaritas are mean in a good way. Like most of the rest of Clapham High Street & the streets around, Café Sol turns clubby at the weekend, when staff push the tables back, turn up the music & go straight to ‘Mehhico’: it’s great for a fun & light-hearted night out. There may be smarter, classier joints up the road, but for some occasions, this is just the ticket.
