Loud Latino rhythms – & even louder colours – set the deliberately trashy tone at this offshoot of Islington’s Barrio North. In kitsch surroundings worthy of a San Juan trailer park, kick back over cool Chicano rinses that seem even cooler during the extended ‘amigo hour’ (4-8 pm daily): mojitos, caipirinhas & Barrio ice tea are the thing here. From an atlas of global good times, take a tour of Rangoon gimlet, Mayan magic & Hispaniola spell (Brugal rum, shochu, jasmine, ginger & fizz) for around £8 a go; the interesting drinks list also features Quilmes & Palma Cristal beers. Greedy gringos scoff on pinchos & big plates, while jumping beans who are here for live music & low-rider DJ sets in the buzzy basement might prefer to pass on food entirely.
