A glass counter filled with exquisite cocoa-based creations and perfect pastries stretches the length of the shop, where approachable staff are happy to explain the intricacies of exclusive chocolate bars, entremets, macarons, cakes and top-end patisserie. At weekends, you can park up at the dessert bar, watch the pastry chefs at work and order from a five-course menu that might open with poached mango with orange and yoghurt ice cream, ahead of assorted pain perdu or plum slices in star-anise sauce, plus petits fours to round things off.
