Brasserie
Slick-haired suits & glammed-up it girls form the core ensemble at this swanky King’s Road hangout. The upstairs members’ club/restaurant brings in its quota of signed-up regulars, but the allcomers’ cocktail bar at street level also has its own chic allure. Kitted out in cream & black, with high-backed bar stools & a contemporary chandelier, it can resemble an upmarket hotel bar when the drinks are flowing. ‘Fantastic’ cocktails start at £7.50 for a King’s Road crush (raspberries & pineapple with grapefruit vodka & Chambord black-raspberry liqueur), but the list also runs to classic mojitos, Kir Imperial & a signature Champagne punch. While evenings are drinks-only affairs, Beaufort House also does a solid breakfast & good-value lunch menu – although service can veer from ‘super-organised’ to ‘shocking’.
