The latest link in the Itsu chain is its biggest venture to date & looks set to become the flagship of the group. Fans of the brand will recognise the food & the style, although this branch has some enticing new features. On the first floor is the Butterfly Bar – an extravagant vision in pink, with astro-turf walls, giant motifs of fluttering butterflies, silver disco balls & vintage Las Vegas neon lights. Saké & cocktails are the drinks of choice – the signature Bell’Itsu mix involves Champagne, lychee purée & crème de cassis. The ground floor is taken up by a full-on restaurant with diners seated at three conveyor belts displaying the likes of langoustine gyoza with Asian vegetables & glass noodles in ‘dynamite broth’ or soft-shell crab maki rolls. Sushi, salads, fat-free frozen yoghurt & other healthy snacks are available to take out in the adjoining shop.
