Square Meal Review of Itsu ?

An instantly recognisable yellow & pink butterfly now flies above some 35 branches of Itsu, both takeout shops & swish flagship restaurants. The links in the chain (founded by Julian ‘Pret a Manger’ Metcalfe) vary in size & promise, but all share the brand’s ‘health & happiness’ ethos – a philosophy that translates into light, fresh & fashionable Japanese-inspired sushi, soups & salads served with some style. For a quick lunch, try a sandwich-salad hybrid or one of the ‘grab & go’ bento boxes; otherwise simply snack on wasabi popcorn & dark chocolate rice cakes. From the conveyor belt – Itsu was a kaiten pioneer in the UK – go for colour-coded plates such as tataki beef salad or ‘new style’ salmon sashimi. Exotic cocktails including kiwimanjaro & lychee martini have the edge on the to-the-point drinks list.

The Hedonist :: Itsu Body Blitz – Review

Founded by Julian Metcalfe (Co Founder of Pret), itsu is a chain of takeaways dedicated to ‘butterfly light, low fat nutritious food’. There are forty branches and two proper restaurants situated in Chelsea and Notting Hill with the upstairs of the latter branch featuring The Butterfly Bar-a local destination for cocktails that features the full menu from the restaurant. We were at itsu to try the Body Blitz menu and as I was fighting man-flu at the time this option seemed particularly sensible...
