More French brasserie than gastropub, My Dining Room continues to offer a home-from-home in its genial premises behind Fulham Broadway. All is tickety-boo inside, with a polished wood & leather theme running through the bar & the open-plan restaurant at the back. Celeb chef John Burton-Race has been enticed on board as a consultant & the food has gone up a notch or two, judging by recent feedback: steak tartare hits the right notes, tartiflettes are suitably gutsy & mains such as braised leg of rabbit with mustard sauce deliver the goods. Sharing dishes also go down well, from slow-roast chicken to an extravagantly presented whole pavlova for afters. Wines are a strong suit, & everything on the diligently sourced Old World list is available by the carafe.
