Evoking the sultry vibes of a 16th-century Tehran bazaar, this cosy newer offshoot of Sheen’s well-like Persian eatery keeps its prices low, & the recently introduced BYO policy (there’s also a brief wine list) simply adds to its affordable assets. The highlight of a meal here is the lavash (flatbread), freshly baked to order in a clay oven at the front of the dining room. Order it with a selection of mezze: feta cheese & mixed salad, perhaps, or dips such as hoummos or mast o moosir (yoghurt with wild garlic). Main courses consist of various chicken or lamb kebabs & mixed grills, plus a couple of typically Persian stews; try the tangy khoreshte ghorme sabzi (lamb cooked with herbs, sun-dried lime & red kidney beans, accompanied by saffron rice). The basement can be hired for private functions.
