Square Meal Review of The Adam & Eve ?

Handily placed behind Oxford Street, The Adam & Eve is a favourite with shoppers & workers looking for a place to unwind. The furnishings scream patriotic chintz (warm woods, tweed, tartan & Union Jack upholstery), while the menu follows suit with a traditional ensemble of British pub staples. There’s smoked mackerel & horseradish pâté to start, followed by hearty roast rump of lamb or beer-battered cod & chips. If you’re watching the pennies, the chunky sandwiches are also worth investigating, or you can go for the ultimate budget option: a slice of Oxfordshire bloomer with Nether End Farm butter for just £2.50. Drinks are tailored to the mixed crowd, with some 13 Anglo/European brews on tap, plus an impressive list of international wines chosen by John Clevely MW.
