Traffic at the Crowne Plaza Hotel

Come for a drink at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Kensington, & you’ll discover there’s a rather odd theme: the traffic light. The chrome & mirrors of the small lobby bar are enhanced by the glow of mini traffic lights dotted about this all-day operation. The menu is better than you’d normally find when stuck in a jam: burgers with fries, mixed charcuterie, battered cod, pizza or even a rib-eye steak with marrow bone & pepper sauce. To drink, bottled beers offer an international flavour – Chang from Thailand, Corona from Mexico, Asahi from Japan, Newcastle Brown Ale from England – while cocktails are themed around the colours of, you guessed it, traffic lights.
