Gregg Wallace was well-known as a fruit & veg man before he was on telly. His fresh produce from Secretts Farm in Surrey is rightly hailed as some of the best local produce available for the London restaurant trade, & this café-deli is purportedly a showcase for it. Expect beautiful salads, lovely tomatoes, impeccable vegetables & excellent bread in a gorgeous, light-filled atrium. However, it’s likely Wallace would be horrified if he ate here. Food is often inaccurately cooked & much of it comes out of the kitchen cold, delivered in ‘mean portions’. What’s more, service tends to be slow whether staff are busy (which is rare) or not. The MasterChef isn’t proving himself a master restaurateur; it may be time for him to go back to his day job.
