Launched in 2010, Charlotte’s Bistro is now well into its stride & has become a likeable addition to sophisticated Turnham Green Terrace. Related to Charlotte’s Place in Ealing, it sets out its stall as a sleek bar/restaurant, happily accommodating drinkers & diners in equal measure. Tapas, cocktails & plenty of wines by the glass are the order of the day downstairs, while the first-floor dining room is topped by an impressive skylight, & fitted out in contemporary style (wooden flooring, olive-green banquettes etc). Flavours are modern, eclectic & seasonal – think asparagus velouté with almond-milk froth or pollock carpaccio with gooseberry & ginger dressing, ahead of lamb rump & sweetbreads with garlic purée & fève beans or warm cured mackerel partnered by fennel & orange marmalade. Finish with elderflower jelly or perhaps vanilla cheesecake with strawberries.
