Freggo

Having bought us so much Argentinian beef, it seems only natural that the Gaucho group should find an outlet for all that milk. Freggo mixes the repertoire of a café with an innovative range of gelato & the look of a trendy bar. Purple walls, a marble counter, towering silver stools & cocoon-like pink chairs – only the prominently displayed plastic-boxed salads & sarnies dumb down the cool factor. The luscious edible goodies are oddly hidden away behind the counter, but the 21-strong range – from indulgent banana split, dulce de leche or passion fruit cheesecake ice cream through to refreshing sorbets (lemon, strawberries & an Argentinian-themed version with Malbec & berries) – is undoubtedly impressive. Cakes & savoury snacks including empanadas & tortillas cater for bigger appetites, & the 2am closing time is increasingly popular with Mayfair clubbers.
