It may resemble the living room at your eccentric uncle’s house, but Julie’s boho charm has stood it in good stead over the past 45 years. With the rest of the labyrinthine building opting for a riotous hotchpotch of themes, its grand bar summons up the mood of an exotic gentlemen’s club – complete with Moroccan ornaments, brown-leather booths and heavy curtains. Martinis and classic cocktails keep things old school, while Champagnes stretch from a house Ellner Epernay Brut NV through to bottles of Laurent-Perrier Rosé. Wines feature a goodly number of classics by the glass, and there’s a tidy little small-plates menu, too.
