Ravey Street is an address that should be on every Shoreditch crawler’s itinerary. Blink & you’ll miss it, but opposite the Griffin pub stands a brick-walled, stripped pine walk-in worth knowing about. There’s barely room to swing a gato in this favela shack, but Casita is a little Hispanic home-from-home with big appeal. Utterly unpretentious & set to feel-good, sunny South American sounds, it’s spot-on if you fancy hanging out on a bentwood stool at its simple bar & ordering whatever mine host is punting – it might be bang-on batidas, cracking caipirinhas, delicious daiquiris or moreish margaritas & mojitos. Sagres is on draught & bottled beers are piled high in funky packing crates if cocktails don’t do it for you. The fact that Casita is a favourite with off-duty bartenders speaks volumes.
