Square Meal Review of The Book Club ?

This lively Shoreditch social has a liquid library of zany cocktail titles well worth perusing: Gini Hendricks, put the Ketel on, and show me the monkey are just some of the names on its list of all-time bestsellers. You’ll also find sub-£20 wines, bargain bubbles (Louis Dornier, £35) and a comprehensive all-day menu that touts everything from porridge to ‘posh pickings’ platters, via seafood risotto, pork chops or Quorn moussaka. As a post-industrial, postmodern non-members ‘club’, it’s also hard to beat for lowbrow good times and an eclectic programme of more highbrow events: ping-pong, art and photography exhibitions, creative workshops, talks, films, life drawing, alternative speed-dating, live gigs and drunken disco dancing to tunes your mother shouldn’t know are a recipe for fun in anyone’s book.
