With most nibbles – sophisticated ones, too – hovering around the £3-5 mark, this well-liked bar at the National Theatre offers good value for money, as well as spectacular riverside views. The line-up of bottled beers & cocktails isn’t the most thrilling in town, but it does the job of lubricating dry palates ahead of the food. Chill outside on the eponymous terrace with a selection of Med-inspired snacks, from aubergine, sweet potato & mozzarella croquettes to risotto with wild boar salami, peas & Taleggio, or club together for one of the mixed mezze plates featuring a variety of hot & cold nibbles. In poor weather, head inside to the funky, concrete-ceilinged space punctuated with apple-green couches, where you can rub shoulders with the luvvies, thespians & culture vultures.
