The Establishment

Sporting the same curious decor as its Parsons Green sister, The Establishment is now peddling its hybrid restaurant/gastropub/lounge bar concept to the locals of Battersea Rise. For all the bizarre animal-skin upholstery & brown colour schemes, this venue manages to pull off its flagrant courtship of south-west London’s moneyed young crowd, mainly through a line-up of good cocktails & a menu of decent British grub. Neither the food – nor the prices – are likely to bowl you over, but dishes such as seared scallops with pea purée, crispy bacon & pea shoots, lamb Wellington & the very commendable steaks all make for a decent meal. The Establishment also buzzes as a drinking den, with everyone from young professionals to yummy-mummies getting stuck into the weighty drinks list.
